Oberti’s obsession is the money to be made through the privatization
of public lands.
Oberto Oberti is afraid of letting local people decide the fate of his obsessive scheme to privatize Jumbo Valley for his personal profit. We understand Oberti’s desperation, due perhaps to his persistent frustration in convincing Kootenay residents that a shrinking glacier and its unpopulated valley should be handed over to him for personal profit.
In the long-run, it is the quality of our natural water sources and the integrity of our landscapes that will determine our economic well-being. Jumbo Glacier Resort is not a done deal, as Oberto Oberti would have us believe. We can say no, by ensuring that the directors of the Regional District of East Kootenay serve our interests, and not one man’s obsessive pursuit of personal profit.
